AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– The Israeli military court in Ofer has decided to banish eight Palestinian children from their hometown of Beit Ummar, north of Al-Khalil.

Yousef Abu Mariya, the coordinator of the popular committee in the village, told Quds Press that the court ordered the banishment of the eight minors 40 kilometers away from the village. He said that one of them is 14 years old and the others 15 and 16 years old.

He said that the court took the decision after human rights groups intervened and demanded the release of all eight minors.

He said that families of those children were angry at the ruling and protested in court, adding that the Israeli soldiers attacked them and forced them out of the court.

The court charged the children with throwing stones at Israeli occupation soldiers and participating in popular protest rallies.

Abu Mariya said that the decision would deprive the children of their families and their studies, urging all human rights groups to stop the Israeli occupation’s atrocities against the Beit Ummar inhabitants especially this latest decision.
