GAZA, (PIC)– The number of Palestinian prisoners going on hunger strike in solidarity with detained hunger strikers Hana’a Shalabi and MP Ahmed Al-Haj had risen to 26 in various prisons.
Riyadh Al-Ashqar, an expert in prisoners’ affairs, told the PIC on Thursday that the prisoners would end their strike when Shalabi and Haj decide to end theirs.
He said that the strikes were in solidarity with both hunger strikers and not meant to ask for certain demands.
The expert said that some of the prisoners had been on hunger strike for 21 days.
Shalabi has been on hunger strike for 36 days and Haj for 10 days.
