BEIRUT, (PIC)– Hamas has warned Israel of escalating violations of Palestinian prisoners’ rights after hunger striker Hana’a Shalabi was carried to hospital after deterioration of her health condition on her 36th day of hunger strike.
The movement, in a statement on Wednesday, held Israel fully responsible for the life and safety of Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas hailed the hunger strikers in Israeli jails topped by MP Ahmed Al-Haj Ali and Hana’a Shalabi.
It urged the Palestinian people to express solidarity with the prisoners and asked the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation along with human rights groups and international organizations to urgently act to save the prisoners from the “Zionist criminality” and to pressure Israel to release them immediately.
