OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) exiled Sheikh Abdullah Alqam, the secretary general of the Jerusalem tribes, from Jerusalem for one month.

Alqam, who is also a member of the higher committee to resist the wall and settlement in Jerusalem and the Aqsa, said that he was detained on Thursday at the Shufat refugee camp roadblock and was released later after imposing a 3000 shekels fine on him.

He said that the IOA charged him with encouraging the global march to Jerusalem in support of the holy city and its Aqsa mosque.

The general secretariat of the Jerusalem tribes denounced the IOA measure, describing it as “arbitrary”. It said that such restrictions would not dissuade it from persisting in its national, religious, moral, and social duties toward Jerusalem.
