JENIN, (PIC)– Two marches were organized in Jenin villages on Friday in solidarity with Palestinian hunger strikers in Israeli occupation jails and in rejection of the Israeli deportation of Hana’a Shalabi.
Hundreds of Palestinians gathered after the Friday congregation in Kufr Ra’ee village and marched in its streets and alleys heading to the home of hunger striker Bilal Dhiyab, who was rushed to an Israeli hospital a few days ago after his health seriously deteriorated.
The marchers chanted slogans calling for saving Dhiyab and for his immediate release. His brother told the masses that Dhiyab was still on hunger strike and is adamant on maintaining it to the finish.
The marchers then headed in buses to Brukin village to the west of Jenin and joined the sit-in rally held in solidarity with detainee Hana’a Shalabi who reportedly ended her 43-day hunger strike in return for banishing her to Gaza Strip for three years.
Omar, her brother, told the rally that the family refuses the banishment decision and demands an explanation to the reported deal.
He said that the family would continue in protest steps and would not remove the sit-in tent until Hana’a is released.
