On March 29, 2012, students from 32 institutions of higher education around the world went on a 24-hour hunger strike in solidarity with Palestinian prisoner Hana Shalabi. Ms. Shalabi went on a 44-day hunger strike in protest of being held in administrative detention without charge or trial. In a deal to end her hunger strike Hana Shalabi was exiled on April 1 to Gaza by the Israeli authorities. She now has no access to her family, who live in the West Bank. #HanaShalabi
