DocJazz to perform in #Amsterdam on May 12 – Spread the word!

Tuesday, 03 April 2012 13:34 | DocJazz.com

Doc Jazz is coming back briefly to the land where he was born: the Netherlands. Just like in 2011, he is planning to attend an annual surgical conference there – and just like last year, fans and friends have made a start with organizing a performance in the country’s capital Amsterdam.

In May 2011, Doc Jazz was featured in 3 shows on national Dutch radio; excerpts of these broadcasts (Radio 1, Radio 5 and Radio Netherlands Worldwide) can be listened to in this Youtube complilation.

Just like the 2011, the message of freedom for Palestine will be brought straight to the capital Amsterdam. The difference is that this year the performance will be tied in with an event for the empowerment of ethnic minorities. In the hardened atmosphere of the Netherlands in the 21st century, they are finding themselves confronted with increasing discrimination, social rejection and hate-speech in the media and in the political echelons of the country.

When more information becomes available about this event and Doc Jazz’s performance there, it will surely be made known on docjazz.com.

For now, you are invited to keep Saturday afternoon and evening of the 12th of May free for this event, and the evening performance by Doc Jazz ! Just to keep you enthused, and to give you a tool that you can use to help promote the show, a short promo video has been compiled about Doc Jazz, featuring excerpts from performances in Palestine and in the Netherlands, as well as interviews with Doc Jazz fans. It also contains a clip from the Palestinian TV-channel Wattan TV, where he was interviewed with regard to his participation in the Palestinian TV talent-show ‘Ghaneeha’ last month.

Any help in sharing the video below through Facebook, Twitter or other channels is highly appreciated ! Stay tuned here at the Musical Intifada for more specific information about the upcoming May 12 performance and event.
