Occupation renews administrative detention of a blind captive

RAMALLAH, (PIC) The Israeli occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention, without charge or trial, of Sheikh Ali Hannoun (45 years) for the third time in a row. Sheikh Hannoun who hails from the village of Mazra’a to the west of Ramallah is blind.

One of the captives told PIC correspondent, in a phone call, that the occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention of Sheikh Hannoun two days ago as his current detention was due to end mid-April.

The IOF arrested Sheikh Hannoun from his home mid-Ramadan (August 2011) and renewed his administrative detention of 4 months twice. Hannoun spent six years on aggregate in occupation jails on the pretext that he poses a threat to the security of the Zionist entity.

Administrative detention is used by the occupation against Palestinian political activists whose only crime is opposing occupation and against whom the occupation authorities cannot find any evidence of wrong-doing to try them, so they are kept in occupation jails for years on end without even knowing why or having a chance of a fair trial.
