GAZA, (PIC)– Hamas has urged the world media to cover the Palestinian prisoners’ open-ended hunger strike in Israeli jails out of concern with such a humanitarian case.

The movement said in a statement on Wednesday that the prisoners decided to wage their hunger strike on 17 April to protest the Israeli occupation authority’s constant violations of their rights.

It proposed producing programs on the occasion and following up its events on daily basis to shed light on the prisoners’ suffering.

Hamas asked the media to highlight the prisoners’ legitimate demands and goals of the strike in addition to their relatives’ suffering as many are deprived of visiting them.

The movement proposed hosting officials of the government and concerned organizations in addition to liberated prisoners in discussion programs over the issue.
