IOF soldiers using Palestinian children as human shields

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The international movement for the defense of children has accused the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) of using Palestinian children as human shields.

It said in a statement on Tuesday that the practice, after the Israeli higher court banning it, was “illegal”.

The movement said it documented 16 out of 17 such cases following the Israeli higher court ruling.

The movement said that the IOF soldiers were disregarding the court ruling, noting that in only one case a person was brought to account for using a child as a human shield.

The report, which covers the period from 2004 to 2011, said that the Israeli army was recruiting Palestinian children as informants.
