RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Israeli court of appeals in Ofer near Ramallah has turned down a request by lawyers to release Thaer Halahle and Bilal Dhiab, human rights sources said on Tuesday.

Director of the legal unit at the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) Jawad Boulus said that the court in its Monday hearing refused to reverse the administrative detention rulings against Halahle and Dhiab.

He said that the decision did not take into consideration the deteriorating health condition of both detainees who have been on hunger strike for 56 days.

The lawyer said that the defense team would file a complaint with the Israeli higher court, charging the Israeli military court with legitimizing the Israeli intelligence “serious methods” against the Palestinian prisoners, who face slow death in Israeli dungeons.

Boulus said that both detainees were unable to move on their own and were suffering pain in all parts of their body in addition to low blood sugar and low heartbeat but were adamant on maintaining their hunger strike.
