OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Israeli police and border guards have violently quelled protesters in Beit Hanina in occupied Jerusalem who were protesting the eviction of two Palestinian families from their homes in the suburb.
The clashes erupted on Friday when policemen beat up the demonstrators and arrested one of them.
The Israeli radio recalled that the Israeli police had evicted the two families and handed their homes to Jewish settlers after an Israeli court ruled that they belonged to a Jewish society.
Tension is still running high in the suburb after the Israeli police sent reinforcements to the vicinity of the two houses.
