Youth arrested in the wake of Silwan clashes

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Israeli occupation police arrested a young Jerusalemite on Saturday night in Silwan town after severely beating him.

Jawad Siyam, the director of Wadi Hilwe data center, said that the police forces arrested Rabee Ghaith, 25, while walking in the street.

He noted that inhabitants engaged the policemen in a scuffle after the arrest, adding that the policemen fired pepper guns at the civilians.

Siyam said that young Jerusalemites closed the town’s roads using cars, burnt tires, and rocks, adding that the policemen fired rubber bullets and teargas at the protestors in the ensuing violent clashes during which the policemen closed entrances to the town.
