GAZA, (PIC)– Two Palestinian prisoners, held by the Israeli occupation, are still refusing food despite the deal to end a mass prisoner hunger strike, the prisoners’ center for studies reported.

The center said, in its statement on Saturday, that the family of captive Mahmoud Sarsak (25 years), who has been striking for 73 days, expressed great concern for Sarsak’s life because he was in a critical condition.

The family added that the Israeli prison service breached the agreement providing for Sarsak’s release on 7/22/2012 and delayed it to 8/22/2012, which led him to continue his open hunger strike until now.

Meanwhile, Akram Rikhawi, 39, a prisoner from Gaza who has been detained since 7/6/2004, is still on hunger strike for the 43rd day which caused deterioration in his health, the center stated.

Rikhawi and Sarsak have been both transferred to Ramla prison hospital.

The liberated prisoner Rafat Hamdouna, the director of the center and a member of the prisoners’ committee of national and Islamic forces, called for resumption of solidarity campaigns in order to draw attention to their case before it is too late.
