ISTANBUL, (PIC)– Thousands of Turks arrived at the city of Jerusalem, where they celebrated the anniversary of Isra and Mi’raj in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It was noted that a large number of Turkish worshipers came to Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early morning hours of Sunday, forming about two-thirds of the usual number of worshipers who commemorate the event.

It was also noted in recent years, the Turkish interest to visit the holy city where many Turkish associations and institutions have started organizing tours to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque in a faith-based atmosphere.

PIC’s correspondent met with a group of youth from Anatolia area who had visited Jerusalem during March where they expressed their surprise concerning the dangers surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

One of the Turkish youth said he was shocked by the Judaization process practiced against the Holy City and the Al Aqsa Mosque and Islamic foundations. He confirmed that he did not expect the mosque will reach such a degree of neglect and deliberate distortion of historical facts, and desperate Israeli attempts to demolish the mosque and to establish the claimed temple.

The young man confirmed that he will work within another group to organize protests to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque and to support charitable projects that aim to keep the largest number of worshipers in the mosque to protect it from any intrusion or desecration.

He pointed out that they are going to organize campaigns in Turkish cities to explain the dangerous situation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy city under the Zionist occupation. He urged the Muslims to realize that Al-Aqsa mosque is in real danger especially in the recent period.
