AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Jordanian prisoners in Israeli occupation jails have threatened to go on hunger strike to protest the Israeli ban on their relatives’ visit.
One of the prisoners, Munir Qassem, told the lawyer of the Palestinian prisoner’s association during a visit to Gilboa jail that the 18 Jordanian prisoners are suffering from disregard to their issue.
Qassem said that the prisoners were happy with the visit by a Jordanian embassy official to them recently especially when he promised to follow up their requests and to organize visits for their relatives once every two months.
However, the Israeli authorities were delaying the procedure, claiming that the Jordanian authorities were responsible for the delay, he said.
Qassem said that the Jordanian prisoners continued in the hunger strike two days after Palestinian prisoners ended it in central prisons but stopped the strike when they were promised that visits by their relatives would be organized.
