AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has renewed for four months the administrative detention of Hamas leader Muntaser Shadid.
Shadid family told the PIC that he was due to be released in three days but the IOA imposed a new term of administrative custody on him on Wednesday at the pretext he posed a “threat” to Israeli security.
The family asked the Egyptian authorities to intervene and demand Israel to respect the Cairo-brokered agreement that ended the Palestinian prisoners’ hunger strike and that included among other things an item ending renewal of administrative detention.
The Israeli occupation forces arrested Shadid from Al-Khalil on the 1st of March 2011 and held him since then in administrative detention, without charge. Shadid previously served 15 years in Israeli jails and was one of those held in solitary confinement in the Negev prison during the Palestinian prisoners’ massive hunger strike.
