JENIN, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnapped at dawn Wednesday eight Palestinian citizens during raids on homes in different West Bank areas.

A Palestinian security source reported that the IOF kidnapped a 22-year old young man named Abdulrahman Sabih from Kafr Raei village in Jenin at a military checkpoint to the south of the city.

The IOF also stormed the town of Silat Harthiya in Jenin city and took two young men, Abdulrahman Ziyoud and Mohamed Tahayna, from their homes to a military post southwest of the city before releasing them several hours later.

Israeli troops invaded the nearby town of Yamoun and interrogated an ex-detainee named Ibrahim Nawahida for hours inside his house.

In Al-Khalil city, five Palestinians were kidnapped after violent raids on their homes.

Among the detainees was a university student from Kahel town north of Al-Khalil called Rommel Asafrah.

Asafrah was inside Al-Khalil university participating in an open sit-in in protest at the political arrest of students by the Palestinian authority when an Israeli intelligence officer phoned him from his house to tell him that an Israeli force was detaining his family at home and he should surrender himself within three hours.

A large number of soldiers were waiting inside Asafrah’s house and searching it for many hours until they arrested him at about six o’clock in the morning when he returned from the university.

The father and all brothers of Asafrah were also handed summons for interrogation from the Israeli intelligence.

Another young man named Wisam Asafrah was also kidnapped from Kahel town to an unknown destination.

In Bethlehem, local sources said Israeli troops kidnapped two minors aged 16 from Takoa town following a raid on their homes.
