GAZA, (PIC)– The directorate general for legal affairs, a division of the Palestinian ministry of justice, warned that the Israeli regime is working on strengthening its control over east Jerusalem through its fait accompli policy.

In a report on Tuesday, the legal affairs division stated that the Israeli occupation authority approved lately a plan to establish a military academy in the Mount of Zeitoun (Olive) in east Jerusalem.
It added that the Israeli army’s civil administration is embarking on formulating legal actions allowing the Jewish settlers to own the Palestinian lands and real estate they appropriate.

The division also pointed out to the serious recommendations of the Levi committee, delegated by the Israeli premier to examine the legal status of settlement, which considered the settlement activities legal under international law.

Its report also highlighted the Israeli violations against the Aqsa Mosque and the attempts to seize its courtyards.

The legal affairs division underlined that the Israeli government exploited the world’s preoccupation with the presidential election campaigns in the US and the internal events in some Arab countries to intensify its settlement and Judaization activities throughout the occupied lands of the West Bank and Jerusalem.
