Israel’s Collective Punishment: Full closure of West Bank for Jewish holiday

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Occupation authorities imposed a full closure on the West Bank and complete isolation began midnight Monday and ends Wednesday evening on the occasion of the Jewish holiday “Day of Atonement”, which is considered one of the most important Jewish holidays.

The Israeli Chief of Staff ordered a 48-hour closure of West Bank and Gaza Strip border crossings beginning Monday at 11:59pm and continuing until Wednesday at 11:59pm, Hebrew radio said.

Exceptions to the closure will be made for humanitarian and medical emergencies as authorized by the Civil Administration, according to the IOF statement.

In the same context occupation authorities turned Jerusalem into a military barracks for fear of the resistance operations, where large police forces and soldiers were deployed in Jerusalem.
