RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Thamer Wahdan, a teacher dismissed from his job, announced that he will start on Monday an open-ended hunger strike and a sit-in in front of the Council of Ministers in Ramallah city, demanding to return to his job.

Wahdan, a teacher from the village of Tayasir in Tubas governorate in the northern West Bank who had been dismissed from his job since four years, said in a letter he sent to “PIC” that he is “determined to launch the sit-in and the hunger strike until he regains his job from which he had been dismissed for his political affiliation.”

He also called on the media to support his case, to highlight the suffering of the teachers dismissed from their jobs, and to uncover the violations of Ramallah government against them after dismissing them from their government jobs for political reasons.
