OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) in Jerusalem held an urgent meeting, on Wednesday morning, to discuss the recent Israeli attacks against al-Aqsa mosque during this week, where several decisions have been taken.

SMC said, in a statement issued following the meeting, that what happened after Friday prayers in the al-Aqsa Mosque by the occupation forces is a planned attack, pointing out that the IOF had stormed the mosque’s yards just after the Friday prayer where they fired rubber bullets and toxic tear gas, injuring and arresting a number of worshipers, stressing that al-Aqsa’s yards are an integral part of al-Aqsa Mosque.

The statement strongly condemned the repeated incursions against al-Aqsa Mosque, by the Israeli intelligence, IOF and extremist settlers, and by Israeli officials and MKs.

SMC rejected the Israeli aggressive statements targeting al-Aqsa Mosque, denouncing the repeated attacks on mosques and churches in Jerusalem in particular and in Palestine in general, and holding the current occupation government fully responsible for the safety of al-Aqsa mosque.

SMC called on Arab and Muslim worlds to bear their responsibilities towards Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa mosque and the holy sites. “Al-Aqsa is no longer in danger, but it is in multiple dangers! Do not leave us alone”, the commission said.

The statement confirmed that the worshipers will continue their duty in defending al-Aqsa Mosque on the behalf of the Islamic nation as a whole, but this does not absolve the Muslim nation from their duty especially that the Israeli threats against the mosque are increasing day by day.
