RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Dozens of Palestinians and foreign solidarity activists waved Palestinian flags inside the Rami Levy shopping center to the east of Ramallah on Wednesday afternoon.
Salah Al-Khawaja, a member of the Palestinian initiative party, said that the activists chanted slogans against Jewish settlers and called for boycotting Israeli goods.
He said that Israeli police clashed with the activists and arrested a number of them, noting that some of the activists were wounded in the confrontation.
A Hebrew media report on the incident said, “Four people were taken into police custody Wednesday following a riot at a Rami Levy grocery store in the Shaar Binyamin region. Palestinian Authority residents and far-left activists burst into the store and waved PA flags.
One PA man was left in serious condition after the riot was dispersed. The cause of his medical condition is not yet clear.”
