ISTANBUL, (PIC)– Tarek Hammoud, the coordinator of the international working group for Palestinian refugees in Syria, confirmed that the conditions in the Palestinian camps are getting worse day after day.

Hammoud expressed in statements to Quds Press Agency his regret that some Palestinian authorities have been working on involving refugee camps in the Syrian crisis despite the consensus of the Palestinian factions on the position of neutrality.

He said that the number of Palestinian victims is increasing day after day in the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, that the number of detainees continues to rise, and that the humanitarian situation in the camps is worsening because of the bombings and attacks.

The coordinator of the international working group for Palestinian refugees in Syria added: “we possess all means that allow us monitor the situations in the camps, and we are documenting the daily events in reports that we present to the concerned authorities, but unfortunately we do not have any official link to communicate with the Syrian authorities on this matter.”

He continued that although all the Palestinian factions agreed to neutralize the Palestinian refugee camps regarding the Syrian crisis, some popular committees in the camps and the Palestinian body that stand behind them have been working on dragging the camps to the Syrian crisis.
