Israeli aggression against Palestinians continues: Homes and Solar power installations demolished

MEMO | Nov 5, 2012

Israeli forces have demolished a number of houses and solar-power units in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces have demolished a number of houses and solar-power units in the occupied West Bank and thirteen Palestinians have been detained, most of them minors. In Gaza, yet another Palestinian has been shot and killed by Israeli soldiers. The demolitions took place in the village of Fakhit near Hebron; demolition notices were served on the owners of other properties advising them that their homes are going to be destroyed at a later date. According to Rateb al-Jabbour, the coordinator of the Anti-Wall Popular Committee, and other witnesses, Israeli bulldozers are still in the village. As such, they expect the new wave of demolitions to take place soon.

Ali Badran from Azon near Qalqilya confirmed that nine minors were detained by the Israelis during clashes over Palestinian-owned land being taken to serve local illegal settlements. “More than 150 minors have been detained from the area,” he said, “and all of them are still in Israeli prisons.”

In Bethlehem, four citizens were detained by the Israelis. Witnesses say that of the four, two are minors.

Meanwhile, in Jenin the Israelis burst into the house of Islamic Jihad leader Bassam al-Sadi and kidnapped his wife. Islamic Jihad said in a statement that the detention of Al-Sadi’s wife is a tactic by the Israelis to exert psychological pressure on him. An Israeli military court renewed an administrative detention order for Al-Sadi just days ago.

Medical sources in Gaza have confirmed that Ahmed Nabaheen, 20, has died as a result of gunshot wounds inflicted by Israeli soldiers. “The body of a Palestinian male was picked up by paramedics and he was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition,” the sources said. “He passed away minutes after being admitted to hospital.” The Ministry of Health issued a statement saying that the ambulance services were prevented from attending to Mr. Nabaheen for six hours by the Israeli soldiers who shot him.
