Islamic Movement elects Sheikh Raed Salah head for a new term

UMM AL-FAHM, (PIC)– The Islamic movement in the Palestinian 1948 occupied territories elected a new leadership headed by Sheikh Raed Salah, for a second term.

The movement said in its closing statement for its annual tenth conference on Thursday, that the members of the General Conference of the Islamic Movement voted for Sheikh Raed Salah as head of the movement for a new term, Sheikh Kamal Khatib as his First Deputy and Sheikh Hussam Abu Leil as his second deputy.

The Islamic Movement also discussed on Thursday the present situation of the movement and its future.

It concluded its tenth conference talking about the latest developments taking place in the domestic arena, including the Israeli occupation attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem and the issue of racial discrimination from which the Palestinian citizens in the 1948 occupied territories have been suffering.
