LIVE BLOG | Israeli soldier Nofar Mizrahi killed Mohammad Zaid Awwad Salayam on his 17th birthday

Continuously updated

At around 7:30 pm on Wednesday 12 December 2012 a soldier of the Israeli army shot dead Mohammad Salayme, killing him with several bullets to the body and head in the Salayme neigbourhood of Hebron near to the Ibrahimi mosque.

(The Ibrahimi Mosque has been a flashpoint since a 1994 Ibrahimi Mosque massacre of Muslim worshippers by a New York-born right-wing Jewish doctor led to Israeli authorities taking over half of the mosque and turning it into a synagogue for Israeli settlers)

Mohammad, hearing impaired,  had spent the day in school and was on his way to buy some cake for him and his family to celebrate his birthday, when suddenly his life was cut short.

Another Palestinian man was shot with live ammunition and injured, he was taken to a hospital in the city. The Israeli military claimed Mohammad Salayme was carrying a fake gun, therefore shot him.

Mohammad’s father who rushed to administer first aid to his son said he saw no fake gun on him.

According to eyewitnesses, an Israeli female soldier opened fire at Salaymeh, from the old city of Al-Khalil, near the Ibrahimi Mosque, and later she falsely claimed he attacked her with a gun. (Reported by PIC)

The Family of teenager killed in Hebron calls fake gun story a ‘fabrication’ (Reported by Mondoweiss)

As Israeli hasbara works, today the name of the yesterday lauded murderess is today under a gag-order in Israel, too late for you so say the leat rearding the almost appalling comments on her facebookphotos cheering of triumph and more.  In the post by @972Mag  “Why was 17-year-old Muhammad killed?” we get another take of hasbara by the fourth version of the alleged events.

Larry Derfner in his  case study in Israeli brainwashing “The heroine vs. the terrorist”  points out the ‘system’ of incitement and methods of reporting, reviewing and escalating the propaganda to a story which will sell (and most of all be bought by all abroad) (Read it at 972 Mag)

The Israeli narrative on the sequence of events surrounding the killing of Mohammad Salayma keeps changing (Report by @YousefMunayyer)

Very typical that the efix data of the picture of the alleged plastic toy gun was removed from the photo disseminated by the IOF Spokesperson, widely known for fabricating and doctoring photos like in the Mavi Marmara Case. Or so you believe alleged rocket threats in Southern Israel, they PHOTOSHOP a Philipin woman into a more Ashkenazi one, or just for fun: paid hasbara diplomats doctor photos of imminent religious people.

What happened to the Ibrahimi Mosque Surveillance?

Last but not least: Israelis have placed seemingly endless obstacles on the way to the Mosque including gates, barriers, inspection points, and surveillance cameras but lack t produce a single video about the event despite this equipment (as usual).

Don’t you wonder: why Israel watches IN the Ibrahimi mosque as well as  OUTSIDE  but is not able to hand over a video of any alleged attack?

Update Dec 17, 2012

And here is it: The by IOF  ‘released‘ footage of the ‘attacker’.

Maybe IOF can fool any soul who has not been to the checkpoint. Some inconsistencies immediately raise one’s observation watching this ‘production’.

As IOF deploys a 24 hour surveillance CCTV (Closed Circuit) surveillance system throughout Al-Khalil (and beyond) btw, there is no time-stamp whatsoever 9which is normal btw)  in the footage anymore. This is highly unlikely but apparently desired by IOF so you won’t notice the “cut” edited at 0.24 secs of the “movie”

Not to forget Israel deploys the Afcon Control & Automation has supplied, CEIA metal detectors….etc…. etc …. etc… etc… & monitor cameras on gates. Yet all you get is another shitty production of the video-editing team of tzahal’s Universal Delusional Movies.

Never mind the fact that a kid on almost the doorstep of his own home, surrounded by armed soldiers, attempt to shoot him for almost a minute, as stated by the army they  started a gunfight because of an alleged plastic gun which is not clearly to observe.

Yet highly unlikely for such an action – as is known- would cause immediate suicide. Remember, Mohammed was going out for a cake, not for a death-wish.

Last but not least, it is quite remarkable, several trained soldiers can not ‘man’ a 17 year old boy, eventually shoot him and he still runs away! Without falling mind you!

Remains the question:  Where is the footage of the High Res security cams installed on the gates? (again)

Update Dec 26, 2012

Finally the unedited version including the usual timestamps of CCTV footage surfaces

For comparision: Again the initial edited video released by the IOF:

Israeli forces kill Hebron teenager

197624_345x230[1]HEBRON (Ma’an) — An Israeli border guard officer on Wednesday shot dead a Palestinian teenager in Hebron’s Old City in the southern West Bank.

Locals identified the victim as 16-year-old Muhammad Ziad Awad Salaymah.

A local doctor, hearing shots fired, rushed to the Salaymah neighborhood, near the Ibrahimi Mosque, but was unable to revive the teenager.

The doctor told Ma’an that local women were arguing with Israeli forces who were preventing them from reaching Salaymah.

“I followed the women, and when I felt his pulse, I found that he was dead,” the doctor said.

Israeli police said the victim appeared to be carrying a fake pistol.

“Initial findings are that he had a fake pistol that he pointed at the officers at the time of the incident,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told Ma’an.

He said Salaymah had pointed the object at border police who “responded by firing a number of shots at the Palestinian who was critically injured and pronounced dead at a hospital in Hebron a short while after.”

The shooting led to angry confrontations between residents and Israeli soldiers, who deployed to the area in large numbers firing tear gas and stun grenades.

Salaymah’s brother was detained and his father was hospitalized with moderate injuries, witnesses told Ma’an.

Two other Palestinians have been killed in Hebron in clashes with Israelis in the past month.
