AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces closed, on Sunday afternoon, the northern entrance to the city of Yatta, and set up a checkpoint just off the Israeli military tower in the “Ziv” area south of al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank.
PIC’s correspondent said that an Israeli military force has set up a surprise military checkpoint at the entrance to the city of Yatta, where it stopped and searched the citizens’ vehicles and detained dozens of Palestinians after checking their identities.
The soldiers were carrying lists of names of citizens are wanted by the occupation authorities.
Israeli troops have escalated, during the past few days, the military procedures along the bypass road N. 60 after a settler had been shot on the road, a month ago.
A group of Palestinian young men threw stones at settlers’ vehicles near the settlement of Gush Etzion, established on Palestinian land in the north of al-Khalil and Tekoa area eastern Bethlehem.
Hebrew sources reported that there were no injuries among settlers.
The occupation forces arrived to the region under the pretext of searching for the stone throwers.
