HEBRON (Ma’an) — Israeli forces fired tear gas and sound grenades at a funeral procession in southern West Bank town Beit Ummar, a local activist said.
The town had gathered to mourn Fayqa Ikhlayel, a female resident in her 50s, when soldiers tried to direct the procession down another road, local committee spokesman Muhammad Ayyad Awad said.
Forces fired tear gas and some youth threw stones at the soldiers, but no injuries were reported.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said around 100 Palestinians hurled rocks at forces, who responded with riot dispersal means.
