GAZA, (PIC)– Ismail Haniya, the Gaza Prime Minister, warned of the Israeli occupation’s intention to build a synagogue and a police station near al-Aqsa Mosque and the Buraq Wall and its attempt to change the features of Jerusalem and al-Aqsa.
This came during the Prime Minister’s reception of a delegation from Ireland headed by the Secretary-General of the European Council for Fatwa, Sheikh Saif Halawa, on Monday.
Haniyeh pointed to the significant role of the nation and the Palestinian people regarding the Palestinian issue, especially Jerusalem which has been exposed to the most serious Israeli attack since its occupation.
“We are determined to overthrow the Zionist policies” he said, stressing that the whole nation, including its scholars and intellectuals, is responsible for protecting Jerusalem and al-Aqsa and defending the nation’s heritage in Palestine, through political, diplomatic and media actions and through raising awareness among the nation’s generations about the issue and the importance of Jerusalem and al-Aqsa.
Gaza Premier warned of Israeli attempts to include the courtyards of al-Aqsa mosque in its new project, stressing that the Palestinians will always defend their land and will never give up Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
