RAMALLAH,(PIC)– The striking prisoners have confirmed that they will continue their hunger strike until their demands are met despite the Israeli pressures to force them to break their strike and undermine their will.
The PPS lawyer stressed, after his visit to the hunger strikers Samer al-Issawi, Jafar Ezzedine and Tarek Kaadan in Ramle prison clinic, that they are determined to continue their strike despite their serious health conditions.
The lawyer confirmed that the striker prisoners suffer very difficult health conditions where the Ramle Prison clinic’s administration tried to transfer them to hospital but the strikers refused.
He stressed that Issawi’s health situation has sharply deteriorated and he may die at any moment, where he was transferred to Asaf Harofe hospital after the decrease in sugar content to 47.
For its part, the hunger strikers Jafar Azzedine and Tarek Kaadan emphasized that they will continue their hunger strike despite the IPS pressures and harassments.
Meanwhile, 360 Palestinian prisoners in different Israeli prisons have declared their intention to go on hunger strike for one day in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike.
For their part, Palestinian activists called for Day of Rage on Friday in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli prisons.
The activists called through pages of the social networking sites for “Breaking the Silence Friday”, noting that it would be a “day of rage in all Palestinian cities.”
The activists called on the Palestinian people to participate in the Friday demonstration to support the striker prisoners before it is too late.
Human rights sources confirmed that Issawi, more than 7 months on hunger strike, is determined to continue his open hunger strike till freedom or martyrdom.
In the same context, dozens of citizens have organized a sit-in in Jenin last night in solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike, carrying candles and the prisoners’ pictures and banners, calling on the humanitarian and human rights organizations to intervene to save their lives.
