International Organizations Appeal to Provide a Protection for Palestinian Refugees to Syria

Gaza, ( — Three International organizations sent urgent appeals to the international community for providing a protection to Palestinian refugees the camps in Syrian territory.

The organizations of ” Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights based in Geneva”, “working group for Palestinians in Syria based London” and “Return Centre based in London” said in a statement on Monday, February 17th, 2013 that 600 thousand Palestinian refugees are living in Syria since the outbreak of the crisis late in March 2011, and suffering from shelling and targeting their camps.

They added that are now distributed between refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt, Libya, and inside Syrian.

The explained that the difficult humanitarian situation facing the Palestinian refugees in Syria is complicated as some parties of the conflict try to involve the refugee camps into the conflict.

The statement added that toll of victims among Palestinian refugees reached 1000 due to the continued military operations on daily basis against the refugee camps of UNRWA.
