CAIRO, (PIC)– Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, member of Hamas’s political bureau, said that his movement did not ask for postponement of consultation on the national unity government formation.
Amin Makbul, Fatah revolutionary council’s secretary, claimed in a statement that Hamas had asked for a two-week postponement of those consultations.
Abu Marzouk clarified in a press statement on Saturday that the meeting with Azzam Al-Ahmed, who heads Fatah’s delegation to the talks with Hamas, was not official and did not touch on that issue.
He refuted claims that the internal elections of Hamas had led to the postponement of the consultations on the government formation, adding that his movement’s policy is stable regarding reconciliation and is committed to what has been agreed upon in former agreements.
