images_News_2013_04_24_prisoner-1_300_0[1]AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Palestinian prisoner Younis Al-Haroub ended his hunger strike that lasted for 65 days in exchange for his release following an official deal with the Israeli prosecutor.

Yousuf Al-Haroub, the brother of Younis, told Quds Press that his brother was given a written pledge to release him after two and a half months and not to extend his administrative detention.

He said that he received a phone call from his brother on Tuesday evening telling him that he had signed an agreement guaranteeing his release in the presence of lawyer Jawad Boulos, from the Palestinian prisoner society.

In another incident, prisoner Ayman Jaradat, 41, joined the list of the prisoners who have spent more than 20 years in Israeli jails, according to the Palestinian prisoner center for studies.

The Palestinian prisoners who exceed 20 years in prison are called deans and their number has risen to 75 detainees after Jaradan entered his 20 year in jail on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

Prisoner Jaradat has been in jail since 1993 serving four life sentences in addition to 20 years on charges of his affiliation with a resistance group called the Black Panther that carried out operations against the occupation during the first intifada.
