Health condition of prisoner Sami Aridi deteriorates

images_News_2013_05_04_aridi_300_0[1]JENIN, (PIC)– Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies confirmed that the health condition of prisoner Sami Aridi, aged 33 from Arraba village south of Jenin, has recently deteriorated.

Captive Sami’s brother Rami told the human rights center that one of the liberated detainees told them that his brother Sami needs urgent health care.

The patient prisoner Sami Aridi has been arrested 14 years ago, and was sentenced to 19 years. Ten years ago, he started suffering from cardiac problems, breathing difficulties, and headaches that lasts for several days.

Aridi appealed to all human rights organizations to make more efforts to activate the file of the patient prisoners in the Israeli jails and to release them.

In another incident, Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies reported that the prisoner Ibrahim Shawahin, aged 42 from the town of Yatta in the al-Khalil, suffered from a stroke on Thursday and was taken to the hospital.

Qaher Abu Kamal, the media spokesman for the center, said that Shawahin, held in Nafha jail, is one of the Fatah movement cadres in the town of Yatta, and that he had been previously held dozens of times in Israeli jails where he had served more than 11 years.

Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has also transferred captive Mohammed Baraguith, aged 19 from the town of Beit Ummar in al-Khalil, to the hospital as he lost consciousness after taking an analgesic pill given to him by another prisoner, Abu Kamal said.

Meanwhile, the liberated prisoner Mohammed Taj, aged 40 from the city of Tubas, underwent several medical tests at a hospital in occupied Jerusalem on Friday.

The Israeli occupation authorities have released the captive Taj more than two weeks ago after the deterioration of his health condition; as he suffers from an acute pulmonary failure.

Taj had been arrested ten years ago and was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, of which he had served 10 years, for being active in the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades and for resisting the occupation.
