RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The family of Palestinian prisoner Alaa Weshahi, a 27-year old young man from Jenin refugee camp, appealed to doctors without borders to intervene to save the life of its son and have him released because of his difficult health condition.

The family stated that its son is paralyzed as a result of a bullet injury and suffers from different health problems.

It added that Weshahi was taken prisoner by the Israeli intelligence agency at the Al-Karama crossing after he returned from a pilgrimage trip in Saudi Arabia, noting that it has lost contact with him since his detention.

In another incident, the Palestinian prisoner society said that prisoner Khader Bisharat, detained in Galboa prison, suffers from an infectious skin disease spreading all over his body and needs urgent medical treatment.

The society appealed to the Red Cross and human rights groups to provide the prisoner with immediate medical care.

Prisoner Bisharat, from Tammun town, was detained in June 2002 and sentenced to 20 years in jail.
