Laila ShahidPA President Mahmoud Abbas and his Ambassador to Brussels, Leila Shahid, conspired against the interests of all Palestinians, at home and in diaspora, by engaging in activism against the 11th Conference of Palestinians in Europe, the biggest Palestinian gathering in the diaspora which is held yearly in EU cities and which is organized by the General Secretariat of the Conference of Palestinians in Europe and the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC). The 11th such conference which took place this year was held last Saturday 18th May 2013 in Brussels, Belgium.

Over 10 thousand Palestinian refugees living in the EU and elsewhere gathered to confirm their strong bond to Palestine as their first homeland, to confirm their right of return and to demand that the international community end the Israeli occupation, which has lasted over 65 years since the Nakba or Catastrophe in 1948. The conference raised issues related to the release of Palestinian prisoners from the Israeli jails, the Palestinian people and their quest of liberation, borders, statehood as well as other related issues.

Leila Shahid, Abbas and other PA officials tried in all ways possible to block the way of the organizers of the conference. They conspired, incited and contacted European bodies and did everything possible and impossible for this purpose.

During the conference, Professor Salman Abu Sitta, who spoke on behalf of Palestinian refugees and made reference to the right of return of Palestinians, accused President Abbas and his minions of hindering the conference and creating obstacles for the gathering of the refugees.

Professor Abu Sitta said that Abbas and his minions were involved in attempts to thwart an earlier meeting related to the 65 anniversary of the Nakba in several European Parliaments last Wednesday 15 May 2013. That meeting had been organized for the first time in history since 65 years of Palestinian Nakba or Catastrophe by an activist foundation called “European-Palestinian Council for Relations”. Dozens of European parliamentarians participated in support of that event, which Ambassador Shahid and Mahmoud Abbas tried to block on behalf of their great friends and allies, the Israeli occupation.

According to what had transpired, Ambassador Shahid contacted all European MPs and incited them to cancel their participation in the memorial activities on the 65th anniversary of the Nakba to take place at the EU Parliament.

Mr. Majed Al Zeer, director of the Palestinian Return Centre, said “We are suffering more from the Palestinian embassies in Europe than from the zionists”, stressing that “what is happening in the Palestinian embassies is a disgrace to every Palestinian”. Mr. Al-Zeer sent a message to President Abbas, imploring him to “protect us from your bodies in the EU”.

* The by media displayed narrative of a bodycount – victims fallen by direct violence – does not display, the numerous victims of the zionist occupation which mostly stay undocumented. Nor it displays the victims of the “silent onslaught” due to restrictions of movement, ability to go to hospitals for treatment or life saving surgery, due to lack of medication because of the blockades and so on. For example: The Slow Motion Genocide by the Siege on Gaza only, killed 600 patients since Gaza got under Israeli Siege.

Neither does media display the avoidable mortality. A clear and statistical factual evidence, about the number of deaths due to indecent ruling by occupation forces. For even an occupier has obligations under International Laws, Geneva Convention and the Hague regulations, which it is neglecting.

These circumstances, together with deliberate policies of the occupier to neglect and even deny every basic human right, severes avoidable mortality which is totally silenced by media or reporting organizations. While in the Holocaust, 1 on 6 Jewish people directly died of deliberate neglect, so if we believe the facts over 1 million due to avoidable mortality, neither should these same circumstances be ignores which are ongoing in Palestine.

For this report displays a avoidable morality of at least 0,5 million Palestinians.

How many more dead corpses of Palestinians does the international community need to see in order to act? How many more cruelties and violations of Human Rights, Regulations and International Law will be needed to intervene so this ongoing warcrime is being stopped once and for all.
