GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip called on the Egyptian authorities to reopen the Rafah border crossing fully due to the humanitarian suffering caused by its closure.

In a press release issued following its weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the government stated that the Egyptian decision to reopen the crossing partially on Wednesday is not sufficient, hoping that the crossing can be opened permanently.

The government also expressed its deep regret at the massacre that happened two days ago outside the republican guard building in Cairo, and called on the Egyptian parties to exercise restraint, protect the public interest and reject all forms of violence and sedition.

In another context, the government strongly denounced the last break-in by Jewish settlers at the Aqsa Mosque that happened under police protection and urged the Palestinian natives in the holy city to intensify their presence inside the Mosque to protect it against the Israeli violations.
