AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– An Israeli court on Thursday sentenced Jerusalemite MP Mohammed Totah and former minister Khaled Abu Arafa to 30 months imprisonment.
Totah and Abu Arafa were arrested in the 23rd of January last year during their sit-in at the Red Cross compound. The two had already served 18 months in prison.
Jerusalemite sources told the PIC that the occupation sentenced Totah and Abu Arafah to 30 months imprisonment.
They added that the occupation decided to deport the MP and the former minister to the West Bank, like the two MPs Ahmed Attoun and Mohammed Abu Teir. According to the court decision, if any of the two enters Jerusalem after his release he will be held for six months in the Israeli jails.
For its part, Ahrar Center for prisoners’ studies and human rights condemned the unjust sentence issued against the Jerusalemite MP Mohammed Totah and the former minister Khaled Abu Arafa.
Fouad Khuffash, the Center’s director, said that such unjust sentence aims to tire the MPs through the repeated and ongoing arrests against them.
