Gaza, Alray – Politburo member of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Rabah Muhanna, called on PLO’s Central Council to urgently convene to question Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and PLO’s Executive Committee for not abiding by the council’s decision that set conditions to return to negotiations.

Muhanna said in a press statement published on Sunday by the information office of PFLP invited Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza, pre-1948 Palestine and in diaspora to “protest against these negotiations harmful to the Palestinian cause,” and to “exercise real pressure on Abbas equivalent to the pressure put on him from the United States and some Arab countries.”

The statement said return to negotiations “means the abandonment of national constants including the right of return, and deals a blow to the international resolutions,” stressing that “whenever negotiators resume Oslo Accords-based negotiations process, they start from a lower ceiling; now it shall start by the US recognizing Israeli as a Jewish state and by waiving the right to a 67-borders state to right to Jerusalem,”

Muhanna stressed that “this approach (negotiations) has failed and did not come up with a fruilt,” calling for a unified Palestinian position on the basis of adhering to Palestinian national rights and to the approach of resistance of against the Israeli occupation, and on the basis of respect for the decisions of the Palestinian institutions such as the Central Council.”
