NAZARETH, (PIC)– Israeli occupation authorities declared a new project to establish a new road linking between Gush Etzion settlement bloc and the Dead Sea, according to Daily Maariv newspaper.

A number of Israeli ministers and officials are scheduled Tuesday to visit the Gush Etzion bloc in the West Bank to check on the project, according to the newspaper report.

The road is expected to pass through areas supposedly under control of the Palestinian Authority, which could lead to a major glitch in the current negotiations between the PA and Israel.

The daily said the scheme will take a year and a half to be implemented with a total cost of $10 million. The project aims to reduce the driving time between Gush Etzion and the Dead Sea to around 30 minutes.
