OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– News columnist for Maariv newspaper Ben Caspit said that the party with elite intelligence apparatuses, army and air forces was expected to achieve a victory in Gaza, but in fact it was Hamas that won the war.
The article published in the Hebrew Maariv newspaper on Thursday was written by Caspit as a commentary on the press conference held by Netanyahu, who talked about his achievements in the latest military operation in Gaza.
“After you had been at the forefront of those who tried to convince the world not to negotiate with terrorists, you released more than one thousand Palestinians in exchange for Gilad Shalit, and after your were the first one declaring he would overthrow the Hamas regime, you engaged in negotiations with it to avoid further confrontations, and now you have blatantly declared that the lives of Israelis were saved thanks to your decision to resupply the Iron Dome with thousands of interceptor missiles. Is there no limit to such rudeness?” Caspit stated.
The writer said that the real paradox lies in Netanyahu’s claims that he “would be pleased if Mahmoud Abbas’ forces entered Gaza” after he had embarked in the current year on bringing Abbas into disrepute and making him the humanity’s biggest enemy.
