AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Eichel prison administration in Be’er Sheva started shackling the prisoners’ hands during their meeting with lawyers as an imposed punishment.

Lawyer Rami Alami, who visited Eichel prison on Wednesday, said that he met prisoner Amjad Izzat Kabha, 43, sentenced to 18 years, who told him that the prison service imposed a new punishment on captives in section 11 after their rejection of the policy of strip searches about two months ago. He said that both their hands are shackled during meetings with their lawyers.

Kabha noted that the policy of raiding the cells of prisoners to force them to strip searches and spoil their personal belongings is continuing in all the jails, leading to confrontations between the prisoners and the occupation forces.

Meanwhile, the number of female prisoners has increased to 9 after the occupation authorities recently arrested three other women, including Wafa Atiya who is suffering from serious health problems.
