RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Hundreds of Palestinians are jailed in Israeli prisons for long years for fake charges without evidence but used as a way of punishment carried out by the Israeli authorities against the prisoners.

The occupation authorities use the administrative detention policy, as an arbitrary policy to continue detaining Palestinians where they deliberately renew the prisoners’ administrative detention on the day of their release to determine their will and steadfastness.

Human rights organizations agree that administrative detention is a form of political detention used by the occupation as a collective punishment against the Palestinians, in total violation of international law, especially the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights that states “everyone shall be entitled to a fair and public hearing by a competent, independent and impartial tribunal established by law.”

Tadamun Foundation for Human Rights said in a statement that the Ofer court has turned 7 Palestinians to administrative detention, including two deputies in the Legislative Council, Yasser Mansour for six months from Nablus, and Fathi Qraawi for three months from Tulkarem.

For it part, The Arab Organization for Human Rights in Britain confirmed that 12 Palestinian MPs are still being detained in Israeli jails, including 7 MPS of Change and Reform bloc were turned to administrative detention.

Israeli authorities have escalated their arrest campaigns against Palestinian youths in different areas of the West Bank for fear of launching a third Intifada (uprising) where they detained them under the pretext secret files.

Not only Palestinian MPs suffered from the secret file, but also hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails were turned to administrative detention under the pretext of this invoked secret file.

For his part, Fuad Al-Khuffash, the director of Ahrar center for human rights, said that the Israeli occupation authorities deliberately extended the administrative detention of the prisoner hours before being released to kill the morale of the prisoners, a method of psychological torture used by the Prison Service against Palestinian prisoners
