In recent days, Israeli forces have carried out a large campaign of arrests against both children and adults from various districts of Silwan. In the early hours of Monday, October 18, masked Israeli forces broke into the home of Abbasi family in the Silwan neighborhood of Ain Al-Luza and arrested four family members: Mahdi Amin Abbasi, 24; Imad al-Din Khalil Abbasi, 23; A’aed Khalil Abbasi, 21; and Mohammed Khalil Abbasi, 19. At the same time, Israeli forces also detained Rami Ziad Aouda, 28, and Abd Khalil Aouda, 17, from the neighborhood of Bir Ayyub.

A court extended their detention until today, October 20, when their trail is due to take place at the Magistrate Court.
It should be noted that Abdul Rahim Abbasi, the brother of Imad, A’aed, and Mohammad, has been detained in Gilboa Prison since May 14, 2010. Abdul is charged with participating in clashes that erupted in Silwan after a provocative march in which settlers called for the demolition of more than 200 Palestinian homes in Silwan under the pretext that they lacked Israeli building permits.
