#PalHunger | Arab league holds extraordinary session on Palestinian prisoners

CAIRO, (PIC)– The Arab League council is told an extraordinary session on Tuesday at the level of permanent representatives to discuss the issue of Palestinian and Arab prisoners in Israeli occupation jails.

Arab diplomatic sources said on Monday that the meeting would be allocated for discussing the issue of those prisoners especially the hunger strikers and the Israeli violations against them.

They said that the discussion would tackle Israel’s backtracking on its pledges in the Wafa Al-Ahrar exchange deal and its arrest of prisoners liberated in this deal.

The sources said that the conferees will focus on this issue and on the importance of pressuring Israel to live up to its pledges as included in the deal.

They said that the conferees would discuss means of implementing resolutions of the international conference in support of prisoners that was held in Baghdad last month including laying out practical steps to support those prisoners and to establish an Arab fund to rehabilitate liberated prisoners in order to enable them live a dignified life after serving years in occupation jails.
