WEST BANK, (PIC)– A number of Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties on Friday as a result of heavy use of teargas by the IOF in the process of quelling the weekly anti-wall demonstration at the village of Maasara near Bethlehem in the southern West Bank.

Spokesman for the popular committee against the apartheid wall and settlements in the Bethlehem district, Muhammad Breijeyyah, said that the IOF soldiers prevented the march from reaching the site where the wall is being built. They assaulted the participants in the march and fired teargas canisters at them causing many of them to suffer breathing difficulties.

The demonstrators held a rally where speakers mainly concentrated on the importance of Palestinian unity to face occupation plans against the Palestinian people and their land.

Meanwhile, IOF troops late on Thursday night arrested 15-year old Muhammad Ayesh after stopping him at the Shuhada Road in the old city of al-Khalil for allegedly having a knife on him.

Palestinians living in the old city face daily harassment by the IOF and the extremist Jewish settlers in the old city with the aim of forcing them to leave the old city to settle more extremist Jews in their place.
