Update from Occupied Palestine | May 16, 2011

Below as posted, the initital newscoverage of the announced “Refugee Revolution”: A Global Sit In, non-violent commemoration of the Nakba which started 63 years ago, and hasn’t ended until today. Worldwide, events where held by activists, refugees and everyone who particpated in solidarity with the Palestinians, the refugees and their desperate call for justice, humanity, and their Right to Return.

These commemorations take place every year by the way, hence, since the Nakba started but this year, Israel even adopted and implemented a racist  law to forbid commemoration, mourning for the lost ones during the Nakba or hold memorials of any kind. But no human can forbid another to mourn. Literally spoken, if we tomorrow would implement a law to forbid commemoration of World War II or Holocaust victims, the world would be turned upside down. But in Palestine, even the law has to be silenced for mainstream media, so you won’t notice: More in this article: Silence over Nakba Law encourages racism

In stead of the planned non-violent protests, sit-ins, Zionist Israel committed another massacre.

One of the many in the list which lead to the Nakba in the first place, namely the ethnic cleansing of all of Palestine to establish a jewish state. Yesterday another disproportional paranoia reaction of “Israel” which now can be added to the list of the numeruous genocides they committed before to reach their goal.

Where Palestinians inside “Israel”, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria end even Egypt started their non-violent commemoration, Israel caused another massacre and killed over 20 people, mainly Palestinian refugees on 4 borders… attacking unarmed, non-violent protesters with great force all military means and equipment imaginable and likewise violence. They even infiltrated demo’s disguised as muslim women to harrass and arrest, attack civilians forfilling this way their self-forfilling prophecy (again).

For those to whom this time the media reached the number of deaths: maybe your shocked, but the world should be shocked more, knowing this is daily “routine” in Palestine. On daily basis Palestinians are undergoing the same violence, welcome to their reality. Welcome to their hope, for they won’t give up and neither should you if you believe in Justice, Humanity and freedom.

May Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala grant the Martyrs Paradise and ease it for their loved ones… Ameen

May15 is not over. Neither is the Nakba. So this weblog will maintain this special topic for the May15 events, and related news will be updated here.  Again, the world is in ignorance, wide asleep or even in denial. But yesterday numeruous video’s, pictures and testimonies have been taken and the evidence will be spreaded as well.

The truth has behind the apartheid wall and the hasbara (propaganda) machine for too long.

So I call o

n you to spread the news, share the pictures, the video’s and the word. For only if the world awakens, this Nakba can really end….

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — Palestinian students and rights activists in Gaza have initiated a campaign for Palestinian refugees aiming to harness the winds of change in the Middle East and mobilize the diaspora into action.

On May 15, the group said, more than 1 million people will participate in a global sit-in at Israeli embassies worldwide.

An organizer in Gaza told Ma’an that a preparatory committee was making contacts regionally and internationally, and a coordinated effort was underway to demand the return of 9 million refugees from camps in the Middle East and abroad.

“It is not our goal to criticize, affect or push negotiations or international treaties. We are only demanding the right of return to occupied territories,” the organizer said.

Figures known for their work on refugee rights have been contacted, organizers said. Among them: former Palestinian member of the Knesset Azmi Bishara, Palestinian researcher, academic and leader of the Palestinian Right of Return Coalition Salman Abu Sittah and former British MP George Galloway.

Palestinian communities in Europe and Latin America were being targeted for the rally, and being asked to gather outside Israeli diplomatic offices in world capitals.

In the Middle East, organizers said locations were being kept under wraps, for fear that measures would be taken to quash the peaceful action before its launch.
